Disadvantages of Smartwatches

Image
Smartwatches have taken center stage in the world of wearable technology in recent years. A smartwatch combines the features of a fitness tracker with the ability to run apps on a smartphone, all while looking fashionable when worn on the wrist. However, smartwatches have advantages, but they also have drawbacks. Smartwatches for children, according to the BEUC, represent a major threat to children's privacy . Because the makers of these devices do not adhere to safety regulations, hackers might simply take control of a child's watch and access sensitive information. During class, watches that vibrate or ring are a big source of distraction that no serious teacher can stand.   Content and image Resources Jargon, J. (2021, September 11).   Smartwatches are jam-packed with features that make teaching easier, and they're getting a lot of attention. Vibration notifications are used in smartwatches. The sensation of vibration on the skin is quite noticeable for any call or new email , and it cannot be overlooked. Teachers won't miss any notifications from their phones thanks to vibration alerts. Vibrations are also non-intrusive, so they'll keep us informed without interrupting the class. The teacher’s personalized daily schedule , which includes staff meetings, extracurricular obligations, scheduled class assessments, and more, is always visible at a glance. Teachers will know what's coming up next throughout the day without needing to examine your iPad or phone. At a glance, they can see their schedule on their wrists. Smartwatch Inventor

At the MIT Media Lab, Steve Mann, an inventor and professor known as "the father of wearable computing," developed on the concept. Mann got numerous Science and Engineering degrees from McMaster University before coming to the esteemed college. He created High Dynamic Range photography, or HDR, while studying (and eventually teaching). This device was created to help welders lessen the amount of glare they see when welding. The strong light causes the welder to lose sight of their work, lowering intricacy and accuracy. At a pace of 120 frames per second, HDR combines three photos, one with a high exposure, one with a low exposure, and one in the middle, into a single image. As a result, the welder can see more detail and less glare. Image Resource Mann S . Electrical & Computer Engineering. (2021, December 8).
